All dogs are unique. All dogs are trainable. With praise, practice and encouragement, the end result will be a happy, well-behaved, lifelong companion.
Courses
Obedience
Basic dog obedience opens up a line of communication between dog and owner that will provide many long-term benefits. In this class the dog learns basic behavior skills beginning with walking on a leash without pulling or misbehaving. Other basic skills such as sit, stay, and down are taught in a fun, rewarding environment. Recommendations will be made relating to any special behavior issues.
Agility
Agility is one of the fastest growing dog sports in the nation. Dog and handler run through a course filled with jumps, tunnels, A-frames, weave poles and other obstacles. Agility training gives dogs a tremendous amount of confidence, helps release extra energy, and is a great form of exercise for both dog and owner.
Rally
Rally combines characteristics of sports car racing, dog agility, and traditional obedience into a new fun sport. Dogs and handlers run a timed course comprised of 12-20 performance stations such as agility obstacles, turns, and obedience commands. Many dogs enjoy this change from the usual quiet heeling of traditional obedience as their handlers can clap hands, talk, whistle and even sing to them throughout the entire course without penalty.
Conformation
This class prepares AKC (American Kennel Club) registered dogs for the show ring where dogs are judged by the standards of the breed. Dog and handler are taught how to gate around the ring, stack and stand for the judges’ examination.
